Seal the Deal is intended to be an informative and educational publication for ChemMasters’ network of independent manufacturer’s representatives, distributors and contractors. We don’t want to make you chemical engineers, but we do want to help you feel better informed and more comfortable discussing construction chemicals. If there are specific products or topics you would like to see addressed in a future issue, please contact John Fauth.

Sealing Poorly Prepared Substrates

Ask most people what Safe-Seal™ does and they’ll say… well… it’s safe. And while that’s true, it seriously underestimates the value this item brings to the ChemMasters product line.

We all know the importance of surface preparation to develop adequate substrate adhesion when using any coating or re-pair mortar. But the reality is that we’re not able to prepare every substrate to an ideal condition. Despite best efforts, there may be residual stains from grease, oil or other contaminants that would prevent a typical sealer from bonding well to the surface. That’s where SafeSeal is worth its weight in gold.

When a substrate can’t be prepared to an optimal condition, SafeSeal will bond well where other sealers fail. SafeSeal also provides good chemical, oil and stain resistance while it cures, seals and dustproofs concrete and masonry surfaces.

Because it’s water-based and contains no hydrocarbon solvents, Safe Seal is low odor and a great choice for indoor applications. And Safe-Seal minimizes the potential for “blushing” from over application.

When the application is tough and the substrate can’t be prepared to an ideal condition, don’t forget that SafeSeal gives you the edge needed for a successful outcome.
